    Implementation of the We Teach DATA project has started

    RAABE Bulgaria in partnership with six more organisations has started the implementation of the “Inspire Teachers to Integrate DATA Science in STEM Subjects” (We Teach DATA) project.

    The objectives of the initiative include:

    • Enhancement of the students’ key competences for understanding and processing of data, as well as boosting of their digital competences, information and media literacy, communication and collaboration, digital content creation, problem solving;
    • Enhancement of teachers’ competences to incept and teach Data Science within the STEM subjects’ curricula;
    • Support teachers’ professional development through providing them with targeted training courses;
    • Contribution to the modernisation of the STEM education and promoting the use of digital technologies in the classroom.

    The We Teach DATA team will achieve the established objectives through the development, testing, piloting and promotion of a set of comprehensive innovative learning materials for both students and teachers, as well as specialised trainings for teachers. As the title of our initiative suggests, the resources that we will create with the project, will focus on the inception of data science teaching at school in the partnership countries through approaches for cross-curricular instruction.

    The partners involved in the project include three schools from Bulgaria, Greece and Slovakia, a higher education institution from Portugal, two publishing houses, which also specialise in providing of qualification courses for teachers, and a scientific association of engineer and IT experts, dedicated to the smooth transition to digital technologies in the education sector.

    Under coordination of RAABE Bulgaria, the activities of the project will be realised for a period of 30 months, from October this year to March 2025.

    The initiative is being implemented with the financial support from the EU programme for support of education, training, youth and sport “Erasmus+”.
