In recent months we have worked hard to develop a Masterclass for teachers, to support and facilitate our colleagues teaching STEM subjects at the junior secondary level. The primary goal of the Teaching Data Masterclass is to give teachers the knowledge, skills and resources needed to effectively teach data science in schools, providing a meaningful and enriching learning experience for students.
The masterclass developed includes 13 modules with a variety of information – basic data science theory, the different stages of data processing (from data collection and cleaning to analysis and visualisation), integrating data science concepts into existing curriculum and teaching STEM subjects, videos and presentations on the latest trends in the data world, and detailed methodological materials and guidelines for teaching the 36-lesson “School Box” package for students 5. -7th grade.
By the end of the year, we will also launch a Train the Trainer, designed for education experts and STEM educators, who will have the opportunity to build their knowledge and skills in teaching STEM subjects and keep up to date with trends in the world of data science.
