The We Teach DATA Masterclass is designed for teachers teaching STEM subjects to students in lower secondary (grades 5-7). The training course was developed as part of the activities of the We Teach DATA project, co-funded by Erasmus+.

In this course you will learn how to successfully integrate data science into your students’ learning and how to use the 36 lessons developed in School Box, which you can easily adapt to your students and to the activities you plan in your classes.

 

The course contains 13 modules:

  • Data science and the possibilities for application at school level
  • Basic theory and terminology in statistics, probability and data mapping
  • Techniques to work with conventional data at school level
  • Data entry, data cleaning, data visualization, data analysis
  • How to use Excel for descriptive statistics
  • Programming languages and software used to create tasks for students
  • How to interpret and present the results
  • Examples of good practice
  • Living Organisms
  • Atom to Space
  • Substances and Chemical Reactions
  • Environmental Protection
  • Designing a lesson – objectives, tasks and activities with students, expected learning outcomes

 

Each module contains theoretical and practical information, presentations, video content, additional resources and a short self-assessment quiz.

The training ends with a final test.
