What I learned
❖ The Sun is a key factor for life on our planet. It is a natural landmark and a source of renewable clean energy that is virtually inexhaustible.
New technologies allow wider application in the energy sector, in various branches of industry and households, being converted into electricity or for heating water and premises. Using solar energy contributes to reducing harmful carbon emissions and improving air quality, a factor in the fight against climate change.
❖ Navigating in nature is a life experience that takes knowledge and practice. Developing basic orienteering skills is essential, especially when we are in an unfamiliar place, when we are in the mountains, in the woods or a critical situation. They will help us to feel safe, make adequate decisions on our own to cope well in a difficult situation, better understand and appreciate natural processes and live in harmony with the environment.
Knowing and using natural landmarks will on the one hand be useful to survive in a critical moment, and on the other hand – will make us more observant, develop skills for analysis and critical thinking, for planning and problem solving. The use of reliable tools and modern technologies for navigation, as well as the observance of basic safety rules, will provide us with the opportunity to explore interesting unknown places, share positive emotions from the experience, and spend quality time in nature.
